“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.” – Someone in the past who wasn’t Einstein

I hate starting with quotes, it’s as cliché as a broken down car in a horror movie, but in this instance the opportunity is too apropos to pass up. For seven years I’ve tried making a living as a writer, and frankly it just isn’t working out. Stardew Valley Video Review

I’m not really happy with this review video. It’s all over the place with no semblance of structure, but I’m going to leave it up as a reference point to hopefully look back on and see how far I’ve come.

To say Stardew Valley is akin to the likes of Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon would be both accurate and do the game a massive disservice. Not because it was developed by one person or sold over 400,000 copies in its first two weeks, but because Stardew Valley is so finely tuned and detailed that it puts both AAA franchises to shame.

Instead of building on top of established systems, the game simplifies them, making it easy to pick up and play without the need for hand-holding tutorials. Dig a plot, plant a seed, water it and wait. Keep the fish in the green bar until you reel it in. Hit enemies with your sword until they die.

There’s no excuse. I should’ve been updating the blog daily and I haven’t been, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my reasons. Before inundating the site with a barrage of content, I thought I’d give you an update on the last couple weeks and explain my overall absence while giving you a little glimpse of what you can expect in the next few days.
